Holidays| Lake District 2013- 4 Year Anniversary

I'm sitting here at the moment looking out of my bedroom window and wishing how much I could be back in our little lodge in the Lake District!

We where lucky enough to find these little lodges on a site that I would never have looked at before! It was amazing the people that looked after the lodges was spectacular! They where lovely and clean and the decor throughout was amazing we where do happy and couldn't of picked anywhere better to celebrate, and to put the icing on the cake we had a hot tub that over looked a field and the stars at night!

We had an amazing time here! We stayed in a little village called Hawkshead http://www.lakeslodges.com/ it's out the way but close enough so you can drive or walk! We went for a long weekend Friday-Monday. On the Friday we arrived at our lodge after a 5 and a half hour journey, relaxed for a little bit as poor dan had to drive all the way up there and we only had 1 stop. We then decided we would go on a little walk to the village of Hawkshead which was about 10-15 mins walking distance had a look around for a little bit in the shops and the pubs and then went back to relax, and maybe sneaked in to the hot tub of the evening!

On the Saturday which was our anniversary we decided to go to windermere which is one of the most well known lakes around the Lake District. We got a "car boat" from one side of the lake to the other. Word if warning always make sure you have lots of change on you when you go around the lakes as parking isn't the cheapest! And we couldn't find many cash machines but on the plus side some of the pubs do, do cash back. After our little walk around the town we went on a boat that took us to Ambleside you can get off the boat if you want but we chose to stay on because it was raining, but the boat does take you on different trips around the lake! We went on the red trip and the views from this one are stunning and really breath taking. Although it was raining on the way towards Ambleside we saw the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen! It was a double one and you could see the end of it unfortunately we didn't get any gold!

Once we came off the boat we decided to go to this little arcade we found along the way to is getting lunch, unfortunately the grabber ones to get the toys out was not the best and we didn't win anything :( so we decided to head off to the pub and have some lunch. The pub we went to was away from the town and wasn't that busy and the views where out of this world you could see all of the lakes and it had a little marina out the front which was a nice site. Once we had dinner we set off back to out lodge to relax after a nice day of mixed weather of rain and sun. Sorry for this post bring so picture loaded but I wanted to share with you the sites that I saw!

On the Sunday, this was one of the most amazing days I have ever had! The views where out of this world and it was so peaceful just me and dan and nothing to disturb us. We just sat there peacefully. In the morning we decided we would just jump in the car and go for a nice little drive, we both decided to try and head towards Ambleside, where we went on the Saturday, and to try and find the mountain with the snow in the tip of it. While we was driving we found a lovely peaceful lake, we got out parked and decided to go down there for a little bit and enjoy the views.

We had the most amazing anniversary in the Lake district and will defiantly be going back next year!! Sorry for the over loaded pictures but I just wanted to share how beautiful it was.
